“VIU Comedy Box Office – Bring the Funny” is a comedy and improv’ show in English and Hindi mix, a fun-filled and interactive event where the best local comedians will be performing stand-up and improvisational performances. The production will be recorded to be put on the VIU application to showcase local talents during tough times of the artistic scene due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The show will be headlined by funnyman and actor, Salman Qureshi and standup performer Rushdi Rafeek; then occasional improv comedian, Alina Islam, and comedy actor Ahmed Abdulla will present their individual sets on relevant events. All the comedians are ready to make fun of with jokes on COVID, cricket, living in UAE, being married (or single). While the improvisational troupe Racy Desis will engage the audience for some improv!
The comedy show series is conceptualized by Faizan and Asad Raza Khan. And the main goal is to bring and support diverse cultures on the comedy scene, performed by local artists who have a mix of multi-cultural talents. The international show cast includes Pakistani, Indian, Sri-Lankan, and Bahraini artists who will bring different flavors, different experiences, different dimensions to share it with the audience and enjoy some laughs.
